Chef Blake Clevenger’s Bio
Blake started his career as a busboy at Figlio on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City Missouri, where one day a couple of cooks did not show up and the Executive Chef asked him to work on the hotline on a Friday night where the Chef gave him verbal instructions and he really had a knack for it. After graduating from high school, Blake attended The Florida Culinary Institute where he was trained in Classical French and other International Cuisines. He then went on to work as the Executive Chef of the Kansas City Chiefs and other large sporting events like, the 2005 U.S. Open in Medina, Illinois, Superbowl Extra Large in Detroit. He then went on to work at Liberty Hills Golf Club. After a couple years He worked at The University of Southern California as the Executive Chef of restaurants on campus. Chef Blake has competed in over 20 Culinary competitions and was awarded the 2018 Chef Professional of the year in Los Angeles, Ca. for the American Culinary Federation.
Chef Blake Loves golf and the club environment. He is a customer service facing chef that set’s his ego aside at the door and enjoys interacting with the members and is approachable, always open to feedback. Chef Blake looks to bring his love of Smoked meats, barbeque and Steak to DWCC as well as ideas for special dinners and events that the club has not seen before. Blake Has been married for almost 30 years and has a twenty-year-old daughter attending college in San Francisco.
